Zeisset Reunion 50th Anniversary

The six immigrant children of

Jakob and Margarethe ZeissetZeisset Genealogy

The 2026 Zeisset Reunion of the descendants of Jakob Friedrich Zeisset will be held August 28-30, 2026, in Clay Center and Leonardville, KS. We are looking forward to an interesting program of skits, presentations, story-telling, visiting, recreation, and fun. See the announcement and program for the schedule of events, and submit your registration form by July 28.

You can review highlights of 50 years of reunions in Kansas (1969-2019).  More recent reunion pages include summaries of our gettogethers, informative handouts, and slide shows from 2019, 2016, 2014, 2012, 2010, and 2008, as well as our 2006 tour of ancestral sites in Germany.

The Zeisset Family in Germany is Loretta Hoerman's description of what we know about our ancestors. Ray Zeisset's MyHeritage report provides a systematic list of all of our known ancestors. There are other informative items on our reading list. Two of our reunions included a bus tour of the farms of our ancestors around Leonardville (see map).

We have several stories of our ancestors: about Henry Zeisset, Merton Zeisset, and Bettie Zeisset Hoerman. We hope to build additional stories around the immigrant's farm homes, starting with information from agriculture censuses that Loretta presented on the 2004 bus tour. Other contributions are encouraged.

Almost all of the known Zeisset families, both in America and in Germany, are related (see chart full size), descendants of Abraham Zeisset (@1718-1787). All of the families come from the same general area in southwestern Germany. Spelling variations among Zeisset, Zeiset, Zeisert, and Zeissett should not be considered significant. A listing of each family and, where applicable, year of immigration to America, is shown in a table. For the latest information we have, or to provide more of your own, contact our webmaster.
